No, I didn't win any medals but I did get to eat at the Pizza Olympics.
Now this is a event not to be missed. I happened to come across
it on Uwishunu a week before hand and glad I did.
I would have missed a ALL YOU CAN EAT pizza orgy all for $10.
Thats right I said all you can shove in your toothy pie hole.
I underestimated the turn out. I figured we could leisurely
stroll  around take our time get great pictures of all the pizza tables.
Shit. I was way wrong. What started as a small gathering when we
arrived, maybe 20 people in front of us. Soon swelled into 1200 or
so ravenous pizza pushing pricks. Not all were pricks, but enough
sure were.
We got into the huge banquet room, and thank you for
holding inside.
Outside was a roasty 100° and the inside was getting warmer as
more pizza seekers filled the hall.
We started to go around clock wise but there was no order to be kept.
People pushing, standing in the way. People it's all you can eat.
It's not like they were only giving away a slice each. So now
we had to really muck our way through the throngs of people to
sample all the pizza as quick as possible.
Most of the pizza tables had made the pies back at the
restaurants and trucked them over. Only Nomad I believe was
making them right out back in their pizza truck.
So eating most pies the temps were luke warm.
I had enjoyed most of them. Some of my favorites
were:
CACIA'S BAKERY, good crust and nice flavors
CHICKIE & PETES, better then I expected, Good sauce
POWELTOWN PIZZA: stuffed potato
SALVATORE'S-good all around
TRIOS: great crust and perfect sauce.

It was such mad house that I forgot to
take a few pictures, Sorry. People were packed together and
pushing. They had a bunch of tables in the center of the hall
and if they had less it would have flowed much better.
We left with distended stomachs, moaning that we
ate to much pizza. But we'll be back next year.
